The Siesta Observer, Bayou celebration raises at least $20,000, by Troy Schnelle, September 29, 2005

Mattison's Siesta Grille hosted a New Orleans-style shindig on Sunday to raise funds for the Red Cross to aid hurricane victims. Chef Paul Mattison's menu for the event included crawfish etouffée, red beans and rice, jambalaya, jalapeno corn bread and bananas Foster for dessert. Michelle Strafaci ran a voodoo booth and read taro cards in a cornerof the restaurant. Outside on the stage, Mike Moran's Bourbon Street Dixieland Jazz Band and The River Boys alternated performances. About 300 people showed up to support the effort.

Between donations and money raised from a silent auction during the day, Mattison's raised $20,000. The restaurant is currently pursuing a matching grant from two companies, which would bring the total relief money raised to $40,000.
